Washington Instant EV Rebate Program

The Washington State of Department of Commerce is rolling out an instant EV rebate program that allows qualifying residents to get up to $5,000 off a purchase and up to $9,000 off a lease of an electric vehicle. The program will last until all funds are used or through June 2025, whichever occurs first. Learn more below.

Who Qualifies 
Any residents of Washington State that meet income eligibility requirements. Learn here about eligibility requirements: WAevinstantrebates.org/Eligibility/

Rebate Amount
New EV's:
Purchase or lease for 24 to 35 months: $5,000
Leases greater than 36 months: $9,000

Used EV's:
Leases greater than 24 months: $2,500

Vehicle Requirement
For the rebate to apply, the car must be fully battery electric cars and have an MSRP of $90,000 or less. The rebate will exclude any plug-in hybrids, motorcycles, scooters, and golf carts.

How Does Rebate Apply
Any qualifying customers will get their rebate applied at the transaction of the vehicle within the contract of the sale or lease agreement.

You will not need to bring any additional documentation, such as pay stubs or tax returns, to prove eligibility for this program. You will be asked to complete a Customer Eligibility Form provided by the dealer, self-certifying that you meet the program requirements
Credit Score is not a factor to qualify for the rebate, however your credit score will affect the lease and purchase terms offered by Volvo Cars Tacoma. 
Yes, as long as the customer on the lease or purchase agreement qualifies for the program you may have a co-signer. The co-signer does not need to qualify for the program and may be a business.
Yes! An eligible customer can combine the rebate for this program with both federal tax credit, state sales tax exemption, and other automaker rebates, if available.
You can use either your current year or previous year's total household pre-tax income to determine eligibility for Instant Rebates. This is the same as the "Total Income" listed on a 1040 tax form, also available on a YTD pay stub or W-2 form.
Unfortunately, any EV purchased before the instant EV rebate program (August 1, 2024) will not receive the rebate retroactively.
